When the MLA rubbed a section of the newly repaired road with her hand, the bitumen and top layer peeled off instantly, revealing the substandard work. Shocked, she immediately called the officers ofMadhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation(MPRDC), saying the condition was “clear proof of poor construction.” Contractor accused of negligence; monitoring called ‘weak’ The road repair work has been given on contract to Subhash Pandey of Chhatarpur. MLA Bharti said although adequate material was allotted for the work, ground-level monitoring was completely lacking. She added that when questioned, the contractor allegedly responded rudely, saying, “If you want it laid properly, get it done yourself,” which further angered her. Demand for high-level probe Targeting the BJP-led government, Bharti said such negligence by departmental officials would break public trust. She demanded a high-level inquiry and strict action against all responsible parties to ensure accountability in public works.
