The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) has temporarily closed the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium for tourists from today ahead of the third T20 International match between India and South Africa. This decision was taken keeping in mind the security arrangements, players’ preparation and final tuning of the stadium according to international standards. HPCA clarified that the stadium will now open for spectators only on December 14, the match day. It’s worth noting that the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium is considered not only India’s but one of the world’s most beautiful stadiums. Therefore, most tourists who visit here don’t forget to tour and see the stadium. However, considering the upcoming international matches and prioritising security and management challenges, HPCA has taken this step to close stadium entry. According to HPCA, to avoid any hindrance in players’ security, spectator parking arrangements, media management, pitch preparation and various technical preparations during the match, it became necessary to close the stadium in advance. Request for the administration’s support The district administration has appealed to tourists and local people not to go towards the stadium premises during this period. Officials say that increased crowds could affect security arrangements and disrupt important preparations. Therefore, HPCA and the administration have collectively taken this decision. This may cause inconvenience to tourists, but it is necessary to make the international event successful and provide a secure environment for the players.
