A tragic accident took place late Tuesday night near Nanpura village in Bhind district. A tractor carrying three farmers fell into a canal from a broken culvert. All three farmers died on the spot after being trapped under the tractor-trolley. Villagers and police recovered the bodies and sent them to the hospital. Accident occurred on broken culvert The accident happened around 10 PM while the farmers were returning from Uttar Pradesh after selling paddy. The tractor lost control while passing over a damaged culvert near Nanpura village in the Lahar police station area. In the darkness, the vehicle overturned directly into the canal. Farmers discovered by neighbours Since it was dark, no one noticed the accident immediately. Some farmers who were watering their fields nearby spotted the tractor-trolley upside down in the canal. They rushed closer and found all three men trapped underneath. Villagers quickly informed the Lahar police. TI Shivsingh Yadav and his team reached the site soon after. Bodies recovered from canal Police and villagers removed the tractor from the canal. The bodies of Jhinguri Singh Rajput (80), Balveer Singh Rajput (70), and Shibbu alias Shivendra Singh Rajput (35), all from Rawatpura Sani village, were pulled out. They had died due to being crushed under the tractor-trolley and drowning in the water. The bodies were taken to the post-mortem house of Lahar Civil Hospital and will be handed over to the families after autopsy on Wednesday morning. Culvert neglect blamed for accident Locals said the culvert near Nanpura has been broken for a long time and remains unrepaired. Villagers often take risks while passing through this area. They have demanded urgent repairs from the administration. TI Shivsingh Yadav said the preliminary investigation shows the accident happened due to the damaged culvert and darkness. Police have registered a case of accidental death and started further investigation.
