Singer Mohit Chauhan while performing live at AIIMS Bhopal’s annual fest Retina 8.0 suffers a nasty unexpected mishap as he tripped and fell on stage. The 59-year-old singer, who was captivating the audience with his popular track ‘Nadaan Parindey’, lost his balance mid-performance and slipped. Several videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media, leaving fans concerned about his well-being. Chauhan moved toward the rear side of the stage while performing. Since he stepped into an area not fully visible to the audience, most people in the crowd could not see him. At that moment, his foot struck a lighting fixture placed on the floor, causing him to lose balance and fall. Team members standing nearby immediately helped him back to his feet. As the fall lasted only a moment and he resumed singing without interruption, the audience did not notice the incident. A video of the fall surfaced on Monday. Video recorded from near the stage goes viral During the performance, the LED screens on stage were displaying crowd visuals instead of Mohit Chauhan’s live frame, which further kept the incident out of public sight. However, someone standing close to the stage recorded the moment. The viral clip clearly shows Chauhan stepping backward, hitting the lighting setup, and suddenly falling. Mohit Chauhan’s team calls the video “misleading” Responding to the viral footage, Chauhan’s management team issued a clarification. Neeraj, a member of the singer’s team, said, The video is partial and misleading. It has been presented out of context. We are contacting those who uploaded it. Mohit is absolutely fine and successfully completed his full performance at Retina. Mixed reactions on social media After the video surfaced, several social media users expressed concern, citing Mohit Chauhan’s age and the physical strain of continuous live performances. Others blamed the incident on poor stage management, criticizing the event organizers for unsafe lighting placement. The AIIMS Retina organizing committee has not yet issued an official statement.
