Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, along with his family and all-rounder Washington Sundar, visited the famous Simhachalam temple in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. The visit came a day after India clinched the ODI series against South Africa, where Kohli delivered an outstanding performance. A 2-minute 36-second video from the temple showed Kohli performing traditional rituals with devotion. Washington Sundar was also seen accompanying him during the visit. The peaceful temple visit seemed to offer a spiritual pause for the players before they rejoined the national squad. The Indian team, after completing their ODI commitments, has now reached Cuttack to prepare for the upcoming T20 series against South Africa. The first match of the five-game series will be played on December 9. Kohli performs a special ritual at Simhachalam Temple During the visit, Virat Kohli participated in the traditional Kappasthambham Alinganam, a ritual where devotees embrace the sacred pillar inside the temple. This ritual is believed to bring blessings and strength to those who perform it. The video showed Kohli praying quietly, surrounded by priests and temple officials. A temple official confirmed Kohli’s visit and said, “Kohli came to visit the temple with his family members and some of his Indian team colleagues.” After the darshan, the priests recited Vedic mantras accompanied by the sound of the nadaswaram. The players were then offered sacred temple cloth, prasad, and a framed image of the deity as a blessing from the Devasthanam. Virat Kohli’s incredible form in the ODI series Virat Kohli visited the temple a day after finishing a remarkable ODI series against South Africa. The Indian batter scored 302 runs at an average of 151.00, including two centuries in the three-match series. India legend’s consistency and calmness at the crease have once again made him the centerpiece of India’s batting lineup ahead of the T20 series. His performances have boosted the team’s confidence after a difficult Test series earlier in the tour.
