Hope punished the short balls from Bracewell, cutting and pulling confidently, while Greaves played solid drives and punches. Hope reached his fifty before Tea and even hit a clean six over long-on. Henry’s injury forced New Zealand to bowl with one bowler fewer, giving West Indies more room to settle. Just before drinks in the final session, Hope completed a brilliant century off 139 balls. Greaves soon brought up his own fifty as the stand crossed 140 runs.
