Datia youth held by Delhi police for alleged terror links:Pistol cartridges seized from home; probe connects him to Gurdaspur grenade attack

Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested a young man from Indergarh in Datia district, Madhya Pradesh. He is suspected of involvement in terrorist activities and may be linked to a Pakistan-backed terror network. A pistol and suspicious material were found during a search of his room. The investigation is ongoing, and more links may emerge. Arrest from Indergarh The arrested youth has been identified as Vikas Prajapati, a resident of Ward No. 11, Indergarh. The Special Cell took him into custody on 26 November and brought him to Delhi. Vikas worked as a labourer in Delhi. At the time of his arrest, his mother and brother were working in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Room search in Datia According to sources, the investigation team brought Vikas back to Indergarh on Friday.They searched his room and reportedly found a pistol, cartridges, and around 10 grams of suspicious material.He was then taken back to Delhi.Local police were informed only about the recovery under the Arms Act. Possible link to Pakistan-backed module Additional Commissioner of Police Pramod Kumar Kushwaha said that Vikas was involved in terrorist activities.He added that the module was operating under Shahzad Bhatti, who is based in Pakistan.Three men linked to this network have been arrested so far — Investigators say the accused had thrown a hand grenade outside a police station in Gurdaspur on 25 November.Agencies suspect that more people connected to the module may be identified.The investigation continues. Family in shock Vikas’s mother said he had come home for Diwali.She said the family did not know much about his movements.She was shocked when she received the news of his arrest soon after returning from Gujarat.
