Indore student dies after neck cut by Chinese ‘manjha’:Kite string entangles teen during bike ride; friends injured while trying to help

A 16-year-old boy died in Indore after a Chinese kite string slit his throat while he was riding a bike. The accident took place on Sunday at Teja Ji Nagar Bypass. He was rushed to hospital but could not be saved. The police have registered a case and begun an investigation. How the accident happened Sixteen-year-old Gulshan, son of Ramkishan and a resident of Omax City, was returning home on a bike. His brother Arun and friends Vishal and Krishna were also with him.They had all visited Ralamandal in the morning. While they were returning, a kite string suddenly came towards the bike. It wrapped around Gulshan’s neck and caused a deep cut. The string is suspected to be Chinese manjha. Friends also injured while trying to save him Arun, Vishal and Krishna tried to grab the string. This caused cuts to their hands.Gulshan’s injury was severe. He lost a lot of blood.By the time he reached the hospital, doctors declared him dead. Gulshan studied in Class 8 and worked part-time Gulshan originally belonged to Thikri Ashok Nagar. His father, Ramkishan, works as a labourer.The family includes his mother and his brother Arun. Gulshan was an 8th-grade student. He also did small jobs to support his family along with his studies. Ban on chinese kite string already in place The Indore Collector, Shivam Verma, had banned Chinese kite string on 25 November.He said the string causes frequent accidents and has led to many serious injuries.It also harms animals and birds, which makes it a public concern. Selling and storing Chinese manjha has been prohibited. Authorities will take action under the rules if anyone violates the ban.
