The World Champion Indian Women’s Blind Team has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The team arrived at his New Delhi residence with the trophy. All players together gifted PM a signed bat. India won the title of the first-ever Blind Women’s T-20 World Cup played on November 23. The team defeated Nepal by 7 wickets in the final match played in Colombo. Team formed by selecting players from 9 states India was captained by Deepika TC from Karnataka. 16 players were selected from 9 different states across the country to form the team. These included players from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Delhi, Assam and Bihar. Players were taught about cricket through school teachers, NGOs and community camps. The tournament started on November 11 The Women’s Blind World Cup started on November 11 in Delhi. India, Nepal, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and America participated in the tournament. In the group stage, all teams played 5 matches against each other. The semifinals were played between teams that finished in the top 4 positions of the points table. Nepal and India, who won these matches, played in the final. There are 3 types of blind players in the team. B1 (completely blind), B2 and B3 (who can see partially). Teams must have all three types of players. Bowlers bowl underarm. B1 batters keep runners for safety, and each run is counted as 2 runs. Men’s Team India has won both World Cups This was the first time a Blind T-20 World Cup was being played in women’s cricket. India maintained its dominance by winning it. The men’s blind team has won the ODI and T-20 World Cup multiple times. The women’s team has won a global-level title for the first time. Women’s Able-bodied team also became World Champions this month Before the blind team, on November 2nd this year, India’s Abled Women’s Cricket Team also won their first World Cup.
