The girl he claimed to love became the victim of his rage—a brutal killing carried out in the middle of the road. Near Gandhi Chowk, in front of Annu Hanif’s house, locals gathered around the blood-soaked body of a young woman. Deep stab wounds covered her neck, face, and body. Blood pooled on the road, painting a chilling picture of the brutality she had suffered. A brother’s painful journey from Nagpur Over 125 km away in Nagpur, Simran’s brother Pintu alias Sheikh Shahzad was ending his workday at a scrap shop when the phone rang. His employer, Aslam Khan, delivered the horrifying news: “Pintu, leave for Multai immediately… Simran has been murdered.” Shocked and devastated, Pintu left for Multai at once. According to Salim: Before anyone could react, Sanif pulled out a knife and launched a frenzied attack, stabbing Simran repeatedly. She collapsed on the road, bleeding heavily, while Sanif fled into the darkness. Three years of love, 26 wounds, and a silent death Simran and Sanif had been in a relationship for around three years. Simran had lost her mother earlier, and after being sent to her aunt’s house, she had grown close to Sanif. Locals knew about their relationship. On 3 May, when Sanif called her to meet him, she left as usual—unaware it would be her final evening. Around 9:45 PM, during a heated argument, Sanif stabbed her 26 times on her neck, face, hands, and back. Simran died on the spot. Police investigation and the arrest of the accused The police reached the crime scene quickly, sent the body for postmortem, and registered a murder case under IPC Section 302 based on Pintu’s complaint.
