South Africa has put India under huge pressure in the Guwahati Test and now leads by 314 runs. By the end of the third day, South Africa reached 26/0 in their second innings. Earlier, India was bowled out for only 201 runs despite a fifty from Yashasvi Jaiswal. Marco Jansen was the star for South Africa, taking 6 wickets and playing a key role in breaking India’s batting. The play on the fourth day will begin at 9 AM. Starting the day at 9/0, India’s openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a positive start and added a steady fifty-run partnership. Rahul fell for 22 off Keshav Maharaj, and soon after, Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan were dismissed by Simon Harmer. From 95/1, India stumbled to 122/7, losing six wickets for just 27 runs as Marco Jansen’s bouncers caused heavy damage. Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav tried to rebuild and added 72 runs for the eighth wicket. Sundar scored 48, while Kuldeep made 19. However, India eventually collapsed for 201 as Jansen completed his six-wicket haul, supported by Harmer with three wickets. South Africa chose not to enforce the follow-on and began their second innings, finishing the day strongly. Earlier in the match, Senuran Muthusamy scored 109 and Jansen contributed 93 runs in South Africa’s first innings. India’s bowlers Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets, while Bumrah, Siraj and Jadeja claimed two each. On Day 1, South Africa was well set at 247/6. India had already struggled against spin in the Kolkata Test and now faces difficulties against pace in Guwahati, raising concern for the rest of the series.
