A video of an election supervisor partying during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Indore has surfaced and triggered controversy. The clip allegedly shows Election Supervisor Antim Dubey dancing with vendors at his farmhouse. District Collector Shivam Verma has taken cognisance of the matter and issued a notice to Dubey, directing him to respond within 48 hours. Video shows supervisor dancing with vendors The viral video reportedly shows Dubey partying at his Gram-Inn Farm House in Mali Badodia, Gandhi Nagar. Individuals seen dancing with him are claimed to be vendors associated with the printing of election materials. Those present include: Questions are being raised about the credibility and discipline of the election process if a supervisor engages in partying with vendors responsible for official assignments. Collector’s notice: Allegations of delay, indiscipline In the notice, the Collector stated that the viral video suggests Dubey was dancing with vendors responsible for SIR-related printing work. Media reports allege that the party caused delays in printing, damaging the image of both the Indore Election Office and the Election Commission. The notice categorises the incident as gross negligence and indiscipline. If a response is not submitted within 48 hours, action will be taken. Dubey’s controversial past Dubey has faced several controversies during his earlier postings: He was eventually posted as Election Supervisor, replacing Jitendra Chauhan, who was transferred to Sanwer. Farmhouse, properties linked to Dubey The controversial video was recorded at Gram-Inn Farm House, said to belong to Dubey. Questions over appointment procedure According to election rules, the CIO office in Bhopal must receive a panel of three UDCs for the appointment of an election supervisor. However, only one name—Dubey’s—was reportedly forwarded, raising questions about procedural violations. Dubey responds: “The video is from June 2024” Reacting to the allegations, Dubey denied wrongdoing. He claimed: He confirmed receiving the Collector’s notice and said he would submit his reply soon.
