Before the Women’s Premier League (WPL) mega auction, the BCCI has shortlisted 277 players. There are 73 player slots vacant across 5 teams. The auction is scheduled to take place on November 27 in New Delhi. The UP Warriorz team will enter the auction with the largest purse of ₹14.50 crore. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians will have the smallest purses. Deepti, Healy included in marquee set In the WPL auction, the names of marquee players will come first. 8 players have been placed in this set, including India’s Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh, along with 6 overseas players. These include New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr, England’s Sophie Ecclestone, Australia’s Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy, and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt. Wolvaardt’s base price is 30 lakh rupees, and Renuka’s is 40 lakh rupees. Besides these, the base price for 6 players in the Marquee Set is 50 lakh rupees. In addition to this set, 13 other players will also have a base price of 50 lakh rupees. The 5 WPL teams have a purse of INR 41.10 crore. Among these, UP Warriorz will have the most, ₹14.50 crore, as they did not retain any player except uncapped Shweta Sehrawat. Champions Mumbai Indians will come into the auction with a purse of INR 5.75 crore, and runner-up Delhi Capitals with ₹5.70 crore. Gujarat Giants will come into the auction with a purse of ₹9 crore, and Royal Challengers Bangalore with ₹6.72 crore. Teams will also have 8 Right To Match (RTM) cards in the auction, of which UP Warriorz can use the most, 4. Gujarat has 3 and Bangalore has 1 RTM card.
