Satna shopkeeper run over by car in attempted murder:Attack linked to old rivalry; incident caught on CCTV as accused flees

A grocery businessman in Satna was seriously injured after a man tried to run him over with a car late on Tuesday night. The attack was linked to an old rivalry. CCTV footage of the incident has now surfaced, and police are searching for the accused. Accused returned with car after argument The incident took place at Lalta Chowk, in front of Meghdoot Hotel.Police said that 35-year-old Vicky Singh, who lives near the Adarsh Nagar airstrip, had closed his shop and gone to the hotel for dinner. There, he argued with a man named Atiq, also known as Bucha. After the argument, the accused left the spot. He returned shortly afterwards in a car. Victim hit from behind As soon as Vicky walked out of the hotel, the accused drove the car at high speed and hit him from behind.Vicky suffered serious injuries. He was taken to hospital immediately. Doctors say his condition is now stable. Locals say rivalry existed earlier Local residents told police that Vicky and the accused had an old dispute.The attack appears to be connected to this rivalry.The case came to wider attention on Wednesday afternoon when CCTV footage went viral on social media. Police conducting raids to find accused City Kotwali Police have launched a search for Atiq alias Bucha.Officers are scanning CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas to track his movement.Police said continuous raids are being carried out and efforts to arrest the accused are underway.
