The former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was sentenced to death by a tribunal on Monday, 17 November 2025. Later on the same tribunal ordered the seizure of all her assets that she possesses. Lets see how rich is Sheikh Hasina and what is her net worth? Sheikh Hasina’s Declared Assets: Citing Sheikh Hasina’s affidavit filed with the Bangladesh Election Commission, the Bangladesh based news daily ‘Business Standard’ has reported that she had declared assets worth about Tk4.36 crore (₹3.16 crore) before the country’s 12th National Parliament Election. Assets held by Sheikh Hasina Cash and Bank Deposits: Tk28,500 in cash (₹20,646.76) and about Tk2.39 crore (₹1.73 crore) in banks. Savings: Tk25 lakh (₹18.11 lakh) in savings certificates and Tk55 lakh (₹39.84 lakh ) in fixed deposits. Vehicles: Three motor vehicles, two valued at Tk47.5 lakh (₹34.41 lakh.) The third was a gift, so its value wasn’t listed. Other Valuables: Tk13.25 lakh (₹9.60 lakh) in gold and other valuables, and Tk7.4 lakh (₹5.36 lakh) in furniture. Land: 15.3 bigha of agricultural land in different areas, valued at Tk6.78 lakh (₹4.91 lakh). A plot in Purbachal valued at Tk34.76 lakh (₹25.18 lakh.) Building: A three-story building and land in Tungipara, valued at Tk5 lakh (₹3.62 lakh) when acquired. Sheikh Hasina’s Marriage Sheikh Hasina married Bangladeshi physicist and former Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, MA Wazed Miah, in 1968. Miah wrote several physics and political history books before passing away in 2009 at the age of 67 after a long illness. Hasina and Miah have two children: a son, Sajeeb Wazed, and a daughter, Saima Wazed. Sajeeb is a businessman and politician in Bangladesh.
