A tragic accident occurred on Friday morning in the Vijaynagar area of Dewas. Retired DSP Himmat Singh Rana (82) was sitting on a chair near the gate outside his house when suddenly the balcony of the house broke and fell down. The balcony fell directly on him and he was buried under the debris. He died on the spot. Upon receiving information, the police reached the spot and after removing the debris, Rana was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A short while later, Collector Rituraj Singh also reached the accident site and inspected the situation. Retired 20 years ago According to family members, Rana had retired from the post of DSP about 20 years ago. He lived in this Housing Board house. At the time of the accident, he was sitting in the verandah reading a newspaper. At that time, his wife Kamala, daughter Preeti, and granddaughter were present in the house. A railway line also passes near the house, and it is also part of the investigation whether vibration or any other reason caused the accident. People said – the house was old, but fine Local resident Digvijay Singh Jhala said that the accident was entirely due to the collapse of the balcony. The house was old, but its condition was normal.
