A young man, Jai Singh Tomar from Mohanpura village in Morena district, died during treatment at Gwalior’s Trauma Centre late Wednesday night. On November 10, former sarpanch Ramkaran Singh Tomar and his family members beat him with sticks. He was seriously injured and later died from his wounds. Before the attack, Jai Singh had told police about a threat to his life, but no action was taken. Now, three threatening audio clips have surfaced. On Thursday afternoon, angry villagers and family members blocked NH 552 at Badegaon Tirahe by placing a tractor-trolley and the body on the road. Police are present at the spot to control the situation. According to Vishal Tomar, brother of the deceased Jai Tomar, Jai was continuously being threatened by former Sarpanch Ramkaran Tomar. The threats were given to make him compromise in an old case and to stop the complaint about encroachment on government land. But Jai did not agree to these things.
