Student dies by suicide in Bhopal:Mother reportedly scolded her for not attending school; investigation underway

A 12th-grade student in Bhopal, Payal Tilak (17), allegedly took her own life by consuming poison following an argument with her mother. The incident occurred on Tuesday night at her home in Badjhiri village, Ratibad. Her condition worsened, and she was rushed to the hospital, where she died during treatment early Wednesday morning. According to police, Payal’s uncle found her vomiting late at night and asked her the reason, but she did not respond. No suicide note has been recovered. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway. After the postmortem at Gandhi Medical College, her body was handed over to her family. Investigation revealed girl did not attend school on Tuesday Initial police investigation revealed that the daughter did not go to school on Tuesday while further probe is still ongoing. Angry with this, the mother asked her why she did not go to school. When the daughter did not give a reason, the mother scolded her for taking leave without cause. Because of this, Payal was upset and remained quiet throughout the day.
