A shocking case of fraud, sexual assault, and blackmail has come to light in Chhatarpur, where a man allegedly lured a woman by promising her a meeting with Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham. Police have registered separate FIRs against the accused and launched an investigation. Accused posed as Bageshwar Dham devotee The 27-year-old victim alleged that Mahendra Dubey, a resident of Bageshwar Dham Shishya Colony, claimed to be an active devotee of the temple. He promised to arrange a personal meeting with Dhirendra Shastri, which he never intended to fulfill. Using this pretext, Mahendra extorted approximately Rs 2.5 lakh from the woman through both online and offline means. Victim trapped in marriage promise and blackmail According to the victim, Mahendra lured her by promising marriage and repeatedly engaged in sexual relations with her. During this period, he secretly recorded objectionable videos. He later used these videos to blackmail her, threatening to make them public while continuously demanding money. Assault over alleged video deletion The woman stated that on Saturday night, Mahendra called her to the Bade Bagarajan area, claiming he would delete the videos. When she arrived, he allegedly verbally abused her, assaulted her, and snatched her mobile phone, necklace, and earrings. Multiple FIRs filed Following the incident, the woman first filed a complaint at City Kotwali police station regarding assault and threats. On Monday, she registered another complaint at Civil Line police station, reporting sexual assault and blackmail. Civil Line Station Officer Satish Singh confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the accused under sections related to rape, assault, and threat. Police are actively searching for the suspect.
