hamidia-hospital-launches-advanced-heart-care-facility:cm-says-all-kinds-of-patients-can-now-get-safe-heart-check-ups-with-modern-facilities

Bhopal Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Friday inaugurated a new Cath Lab Unit at Hamidia Hospital. Built at a cost of around 8 crore rupees, the facility aims to help heart patients in Bhopal and nearby districts. Dr. Yadav said the new lab will provide faster and better treatment for heart patients. He added that Hamidia Hospital has long been a symbol of trust and service, and the new Cath Lab will save lives. The unit will allow accurate diagnosis and treatment of heart and blood vessel diseases at one place, making healthcare more efficient for patients. During the ceremony, Hamidia Hospital’s Dean Dr. Kavita Singh, Superintendent Dr. Sunit Tandon, Cardiologists Dr. Rajiv Gupta, Dr. R.S. Meena, Dr. Ajay Sharma, and Dr. R.K. Singh, along with nursing staff and the management team, were present. Relief for Kidney Patients
The biggest feature of this new modern cath lab is that during heart angiography or angioplasty, the use of dye (Contrast Agent) will be in very minimal quantities. Generally, this dye affects the kidneys, due to which kidney patients are apprehensive about getting tests done. But due to this new technology, there will be no additional pressure on their kidneys, and they will be able to undergo tests and treatment without risk. Machine worth 7.7 crore rupees from Japan
The high-tech Cath Lab system brought from Japan to Hamidia Hospital is priced at 7.7 crore rupees. The specialty of this machine is that it requires very little dye during examination. Also, the patient’s scanning report comes in 3D image form. This provides a better image of the heart and blood vessels. It gives accurate information about heart blockages and other problems, which makes the doctor’s job easier. Even in complex surgeries, better results are seen in the patient. How the new Cath Lab is better Role of Dye in Cath Lab
Angiography performed in the cath lab is a diagnostic procedure that uses contrast dye to determine the condition of the heart or blood vessels. This dye is introduced into the body through veins, which clearly shows blood vessels in imaging techniques like X-ray, CT, or MRI. Danger to kidney patients from dye
Contrast-induced nephropathy is a condition in which the dye affects the kidneys. In such cases, it can cause serious damage to already weakened kidneys. This includes problems such as weakening kidney function, increased creatinine levels, and other issues. Old Cath Lab will not be demolished
New multi-storey buildings are being constructed at Hamidia Hospital in place of the old building. Under the old plan, the old building located between the new building Block One and the Medical College was to be completely demolished. This included the old cath lab section. However, under the new plan, the new building will be constructed without demolishing the old lab.
