Six farmers in Panna hit the jackpot after finding five diamonds together, valued at around ₹12 lakh. Three of these are of gem quality. The diamonds were discovered on Friday in the Bhamka Uthli diamond mine area and deposited at the district diamond office the same day. They are now set to be auctioned. Farmer Brijendra Kumar Sharma of Sirswaha village said he and his five companions Vinod Omre, Ramkaran Nayak, Suryabhan Singh, Gulab Singh, and Pushpendra Pathak—had leased land in Bhamka in June. Farmer Brijendra Kumar Sharma said that he and all his partners are farmers by profession and they are overjoyed after finding the diamonds. They will equally share the amount received from the diamond auction and spend it on improving their financial situation and their children’s education. Brijendra said that this experience is like a dream for him. Local people also joined in the happiness of these farmers, and it is considered a sign of good fortune for Panna. 3 out of 5 diamonds are of gem quality
Diamond expert Anupam Singh stated that the weight of the found diamonds is respectively 0.74 carat, 2.29 carat, 0.77 carat, 1.08 carat, and 0.91 carat. The total weight is 5.79 carats. Out of these, 3 diamonds are of gem quality, which have good demand in the market. All diamonds will be placed in the upcoming auction.
