A 17-year-old boy was murdered late Saturday night near MR-9 Mother Hood Hospital in Sanjay Nagar, Indore. The incident took place around midnight on the occasion of Dev Uthani Ekadashi. Following the murder, the victim’s companions created a ruckus in nearby colonies, pelting stones and damaging vehicles. Police later identified the accused through CCTV footage and detained three suspects. Knife attack after dispute between 2 groups According to police, a dispute broke out between two groups of youths near the hospital around 12 a.m. The argument soon turned violent, and members of both groups drew weapons. During the scuffle, a youth from one group stabbed a minor boy with a knife before fleeing the scene. The injured was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead. The deceased was identified as Aman, son of Ghanshyam Kushwah (17), a resident of Sethi Nagar. 25 youths pelt stones damage vehicles After news of the murder spread, around 25 youths reached the area in vehicles and began pelting stones in Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Nadia Nagar, and LIG Colony. Panic spread as stones hit houses and vehicles. Residents locked themselves inside and alerted the police. Before fleeing, the attackers broke windows, damaged several vehicles, and overturned a few parked ones. Police detain 3 suspects, rivalry behind murder Additional DCP Amarendra Singh and MIG Police Station TI CB Singh reached the spot with force and surrounded the area. When the attackers returned, police chased them through nearby lanes and managed to detain three suspects. The Vijay Nagar police team also joined the operation and secured the locality. According to Additional DCP Singh, the murder appears to be the result of mutual rivalry. He said the search for remaining accused is underway and strict action will be taken.
