The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup Rising Stars Tournament will begin on November 14. The mega match of the tournament, i.e., the India-Pakistan match, will be played on November 16. All matches will be held in Doha, Qatar. It will be the sixth time India will face Pakistan across age groups, after 4 meetings between the senior men’s teams and a Women’s World Cup clash. Eight teams have been divided into two groups. Group A consists of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka, while Group B has India, Oman, Pakistan, and the UAE. Will be played in T20I format This tournament, previously known as the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, will be played in T20 format. It will feature ‘A’ teams from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Three associate teams, Hong Kong, Oman, and the UAE, will field their main teams. Two matches will be played every day from November 14 to November 19, followed by the semi-finals on November 21 and the final on November 23. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won two titles each The Emerging Teams Tournament started in 2013 and has had six editions so far. This will be the seventh season of the tournament. It initially started as an Under-23 tournament, but was later changed to a competition between ‘A’ teams. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the most successful teams in the tournament. Both have won two titles each. While India and Afghanistan have won once each. The current champion is Afghanistan. Afghanistan won the previous edition in 2024 in Oman, defeating Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the final.
