In the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case from Indore, the East Khasi Hills District Court in Meghalaya has framed charges against five accused- including Raja’s wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha, and three others: Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi. On Tuesday, the court formally framed charges under sections 103(1) (Murder), 238(a) (Destroying Evidence), and 61(2) (Criminal Conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police had earlier submitted a 790-page chargesheet in the Sohra Sub-Division Judicial Magistrate First Class Court on September 5. Trial is expected to begin soon against accused The court observed that there is sufficient prima facie evidence to proceed against all five accused. The defence, however, maintains that they are innocent. The trial is expected to begin soon. The accused have applied for bail five times in lower courts, but each request has been rejected.
