A week-long Vigilance Awareness Week commenced on Monday at the Coach Rehabilitation Workshop (CRWS), Bhopal. The 2025 edition is being organized under the guidance of Chief Workshop Manager Prafulla V. Kohade, with a series of events aimed at promoting integrity and ethical conduct among employees. Integrity oath marks the beginning The inaugural ceremony saw Kohade administering the Integrity Pledge to officers and staff members. Prominent attendees included Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineers Sohan Singh Parmar and Hanuman Prasad Meena, Deputy Chief Materials Manager Manoj Kumar Singh, Assistant Personnel Officer Manohar Lal Meena, and Assistant Factory Accounts Officer Batham, among others. The Welfare Section of the Personnel Department is overseeing the week’s events, which include essay writing, debate, and quiz competitions focused on transparency and accountability. Unity Run and National Unity Day to conclude the week On October 31, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the workshop will observe National Unity Day with a Unity Pledge and Run for Unity rally, symbolizing collective commitment towards integrity and national integration. CRWS: The state’s only coach reconstruction hub Established in 1989 at Nishatpura, CRWS Bhopal remains Madhya Pradesh’s only coach reconstruction unit. It undertakes comprehensive repairs of coach and wagon bodies, undergears, bogies, air brake systems, buffers, wheels, and axles, ensuring operational safety and passenger comfort. The workshop extends the life of old coaches by 10–12 years, contributing significantly to Indian Railways’ safety and sustainability goals. Besides Bhopal, the West Central Railway has another similar facility at Kota.
