A shocking murder took place on Monday night in the Dhanbad-Udhna Express when a teacher was stabbed to death inside a moving train near Jabalpur. According to police, the attacker was the maternal uncle of the teacher’s wife. The incident happened around 8 pm between Gosalpur and Deori stations. The teacher, who was travelling with his family, had attended a divorce case hearing earlier that day in Satna Family Court. While the train was on its way to Jabalpur, the accused suddenly attacked the teacher with a knife, stabbing him more than 30 times. After the brutal assault, he pulled the emergency chain, jumped off the train, and escaped. The severely injured teacher was rushed to a hospital in Jabalpur, but he died during treatment. Police have launched a search to trace the accused. Deceased teacher was a resident of Narsinghpur The deceased has been identified as Shailendra Singh (35 years) resident of Bankhedi, Narsinghpur district. He was a teacher in a government school. According to the police, Shailendra was married in 2021 to a young woman from Pipariya (Narmadapuram). Soon after the marriage, disputes started between the two. In 2022, the wife applied for divorce in Satna Family Court. After this, a case was going on between the two. The wife is posted as a constable in RPF (Railway Protection Force). Refused to grant divorce in court Before the incident, both had a hearing in Satna Court on Monday, October 27. During the hearing, Shailendra had refused to grant a divorce. He had said that it was not his fault, and therefore he did not want to end the relationship. At the same time, the girl’s maternal uncle, Govind Raghuvanshi, was also present in the court. It is being said that there was also an argument between the two that day. A fight broke out again on the train, maternal uncle-in-law attacked On Monday evening, Shailendra, his wife, and the accused Govind were coming from Satna towards Jabalpur by Dhanbad-Udhna Express. Initially, Govind came and sat near Shailendra in coach S-4. After some time, an argument started between the two. The passengers intervened and calmed them down. But the dispute flared up again between Gosalpur and Deori stations. In anger, the accused Govind took out a knife from his pocket and repeatedly attacked Shailendra more than 30 times. RPF team rescues, victim succumbs in hospital The RPF team was present at Jabalpur station. As soon as the train arrived, the injured person was wrapped in a sheet to stop the bleeding and taken to the district hospital by ambulance. Due to his serious condition, Shailendra was referred to the Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The RPF post in-charge stated that the injured person was continuously bleeding from his stomach, but the team took him to the hospital in time. Police register case, search for accused underway Bamitha Police Station In-charge Ashutosh Shrotriya stated that in the preliminary investigation, the accused has been identified as Govind Raghuvanshi (maternal uncle-in-law). Several police teams are engaged in his search. According to the police, this murder incident occurred due to an ongoing dispute between the husband and wife regarding divorce.
