Bhopal’s Bajaria police on Sunday claimed to have recovered ten stolen bicycles and arrested the accused involved in multiple thefts, bringing joy to several children who had lost their prized possessions, the police reported on Monday. According to the police, complainant Ravi Shankar Dwivedi (33), a resident of House No. 1319 at Coach Factory Road in Bhopal, lodged a complaint stating that his old bicycle, parked outside his house, had been stolen by an unidentified person. Based on this report, a case was registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the cops launched a probe. CCTV footage leads cops to the accused Realising the gravity of the incident, the senior cops guided the investigation team, which examined CCTV footage from the crime scene. The footage helped identify a suspect based on his appearance. A special police team was subsequently formed to locate and apprehend the accused. After a swift operation, police arrested one Dinesh Kevat (30), a resident of Kararia Farm in Bhopal. During interrogation, Kevat confessed to the theft and revealed details of other stolen bicycles. 10 bicycles valued at Rs 1L recovered Upon further investigation, the police recovered ten stolen bicycles from various locations based on the accused’s statement. The total value of the recovered items is estimated to be around Rs 1 lakh. The efforts of the police team, including Inspector Shilpa Kaurav (SHO), Sub-Inspectors Arvind Kumar Singh, Kunjbihari Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Ganjan Singh, Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, and Head Constables Vijay Chaudhary, Jitendra Singh, Gaurav Pratap Singh, Abhishek Pandey, Prem Shankar Chaure, Rajit Raghuvanshi, Rajkumar Arya, and Mithun Uikey, played a crucial role in solving the case swiftly.
