Bhopal traffic police conducts awareness programme at Mother Teresa school:State-wide campaign for road safety, helmet checking underway following PHQ’s orders

In accordance with the directives of the Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters (PHQ), a special road safety and helmet checking campaign is in force across Madhya Pradesh. The drive shall continue from October 22 to November 5, 2025. The initiative aims to raise public awareness about traffic safety, compliance with road rules, and the importance of helmet use for two-wheeler riders. As part of this statewide initiative, the Bhopal traffic police’s education cell on Friday organised a road safety awareness programme at Mother Teresa Higher Secondary School, located in Bhopal’s Kolar area. Bhopal’s Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Headquarters) Dr Monika Shukla was invited as the chief guest on the occasion. Students encouraged to follow traffic norms from an early age Addressing the students, Additional Police Commissioner Dr Shukla emphasised that children should develop the habit of following traffic rules from their school days. She elaborated on how adherence to road regulations can prevent untimely road accidents and save lives. Thereafter, the senior lady cop also sensitised the students about cyber safety, advising them to stay alert against online crimes and fraud. During the event, students took an oath to follow all traffic rules and act as responsible road users. Presentations given on traffic discipline On the occasion, Bhopal’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jitendra Singh Pawar urged students to always abide by traffic regulations and highlighted the importance of discipline in student life. He motivated the young audience to become ambassadors of safety both on and off the road. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Zone-3, traffic) Devendra Singh Yadav, along with the Traffic Education Cell team, conducted an engaging PowerPoint presentation (PPT) session, educating students on key traffic signs, safety precautions, and responsible behaviour while on the road. Additional DCP (Bhopal traffic police), Basant Kaul and officers from the Bhopal traffic police’s education cell were also in attendance at the event, who interacted with students and distributed awareness material.
