Hanumanganj police cracks blind murder case of man:Reveals restaurant owner killed him over monetary dispute; 2 including key accused held

Bhopal’s Hanumanganj police on Friday claimed to have solved the mystery surrounding the body found stuffed inside a sack in the Patra drain area of the city’s Ashoka Garden locality a few days ago. As per police, the man found dead, identified as Saeed Rashidi, was murdered over a financial dispute related to loan interest. Rashidi, according to senior police officials of Bhopal Police Commissionerate’s Zone-3, had lent Rs 2 lakh at interest to one Amir Khan, who runs a kebab-paratha restaurant in the Qazi Camp area. When Amir failed to repay the money on time, Rashidi began threatening to kill him and kidnap his wife. Rashidi’s throat slit with knife During a probe, the police came to know that on October 17, Rashidi went to Amir’s house once again to demand the interest payment. Enraged by repeated threats, Amir slit Rashidi’s throat with a knife, killing him on the spot. Later that night, he, along with his friend Bittu Namdev, stuffed the body into a sack and dumped it in the Patra drain at Ashoka Garden. The next day, Rashidi’s family reported him missing at Hanumanganj Police Station. On October 21, 2025, the Ashoka Garden Police recovered a body from the drain, which was later identified as Rashidi’s. The case diary was subsequently transferred to Hanumanganj police station for further investigation. Loan dispute leads to arrest DCP (Bhopal Police Commissionerate, Zone-3) Abhinav Chouksey told Bhaskar English that the deceased, a resident of Saeed Colony in Bhopal’s Nishatpura, worked as a property dealer and moneylender, offering high-interest loans to small traders in the old city. Among them was 26-year-old Amir Khan, who had borrowed Rs 2 lakh but failed to pay it back. The ongoing dispute over interest payments eventually turned fatal. Accused confesses to crime Police arrested both Amir Khan and his associate Bittu Namdev on charges of murder and destruction of evidence. Following sustained interrogation, Amir confessed to the crime. The cops confirmed his role after questioning several people involved in Rashidi’s loan dealings. Based on call records and witness accounts, police traced Rashidi’s movements on October 17, 2025, leading to Amir’s confession.
