Thar collides with pedestrians on diwali night, 2 dies:2 suffers injury in Bhopal; angry locals vandalize vehicle

Two people dead and two others seriously injured after a red Thar vehicle rammed into a group of pedestrians in Bhopal on Diwali night. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in the city.
The accident took place in the Itkhedi area of Bhopal. The deceased have been identified as Abdul Mukhtar and Abdul Gani. According to police, immediately after the collision, the Thar’s driver fled the scene along with companions in a jeep that was traveling with the vehicle. Local residents vent anger Angry locals retaliated by vandalizing the red Thar at the scene. Police investigation underway The police are trying to track down the accused using the vehicle’s registration number. The bodies of the deceased are expected to be handed over to their families after post-mortem on Tuesday. Crowd at mortuary The families of the deceased demanded immediate post-mortem and release of the bodies. A crowd gathered outside the mortuary of Gandhi Medical College late into the night.
