Chhatarpur dhaba owner assaults worker for quitting job:Video shows victim being beaten with kicks stick; 2 accused held by police

In Chhatarpur, a dhaba owner violently assaulted his former employee for quitting his job. The victim repeatedly pleaded for mercy, but the owner and his accomplice did not stop. The assault was recorded by the accused and shared on social media. After the video went viral, the police arrested two people. Details of the assault Umesh Adivasi, a labourer from Kupi village, works on Satai Road. Two months ago, he quit his job at a dhaba near the Collector’s bungalow. He claims the dhaba owner was angry about this. In the viral video, Umesh is seen being hit on the head and face with kicks, shoes, slippers, and a stick. A third person filmed the assault. During the attack, the accused allegedly said, “Even the police won’t be able to do anything.” Umesh kept apologising with folded hands. Police action Satish Singh, In-charge of the Civil Line Police Station, said liquor had been seized from the dhaba two days before the assault. The owner suspected Umesh had informed the authorities, which led to the attack. After the incident, Umesh filed a case of assault against both accused at the Civil Line police station. The police have taken two people into custody. Dhaba operating on govt land Umesh says the dhaba is operating on government land near the Collector’s bungalow. He also alleged that the owner has connivance with the administration. The assault has raised concerns about the misuse of government land and intimidation of workers.
