A woman committed suicide by hanging herself on the 5th floor of a shopping complex in Gwalior. The woman made a noose by tying her dupatta to the stair railing and then hanged herself. This incident occurred at Madhav Plaza located in Kotwali police station area around 10:30 AM on Friday. The cleaning women who came there first saw the woman’s body hanging. They immediately informed the plaza guard about this. The guard promptly informed the police. Upon receiving the information, police and forensic expert teams reached the spot and began investigation. Woman was divorced 3 years ago In police investigation, the woman was identified as Rita Tomar (34), a resident of Girwai police station area. After learning about the incident, Rita’s family members also reached the spot. They told police that Rita got divorced from her husband three years ago and was living at her parents’ home. According to family members, Rita was in depression since her divorce and her mental balance was also disturbed. The family said that Rita left home without informing anyone around 8 PM on Thursday night. The family searched for her all night but could not find any trace of her. The family had also filed a missing person report at Girwai police station. Police are now conducting a detailed investigation of the case. Guard denied having any information Madhav Plaza’s guard Jaswant said that there are total five guards in the plaza, two guards are on duty in the morning and three guards work at night. He does not know how the woman reached inside the plaza and how she hanged herself. The guard says that the cleaning women informed him about the woman hanging. Police engaged in investigation of the case Giving information about the case, Kotwali Station In-charge Mohini Verma said that the guard had informed that a woman was hanging on the fifth floor of the plaza. Upon receiving the information, she reached the spot with the police force. Forensic experts also arrived. The woman was divorced, she had left home last night without informing anyone. Currently, the body has been sent to the postmortem house and investigation has been started after registering the case.
