A clash broke out between Congress workers and police in Mandsaur on Friday evening.
The protest was organized by women Congress activists against the recent incident at Bhanupara Government College, where videos of female students were reportedly recorded without consent. During the protest, activists attempted to burn effigies of the Chief Minister and ABVP, but police tried to stop them. The situation escalated into pushing, shoving, and heated arguments between both sides. Protesters, however, seized the equipment and threw it into a nearby house. Despite police efforts, the activists managed to set the effigies ablaze, and the police used water to douse the flames. Legislator criticizes police Congress MLA Vipin Jain condemned the police action, saying the police have become agents of the BJP government. He emphasized that the police are doing their job, while Congress is exercising its right to protest. Incident at Bhanupara College The protest stems from an incident on Tuesday at Bhanupara Government College during a youth festival, where four students allegedly recorded videos of female students while they were changing clothes. These students are reportedly associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Following complaints by the students, Principal Dr. Preeti Pancholi instructed staff to review CCTV footage, which showed the four students involved in suspicious activity. Police arrested three accused: Umesh Joshi (22), Ajay Gaur (21), and Himanshu Bairagi (20), who were produced in court and sent to Uppajail, Garoth. The search for the fourth accused is
