Gold prices continued their upward trend today, while silver witnessed a decline.
According to data from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold rose by ₹640 to reach ₹1,26,792, up from ₹1,26,152 yesterday. In contrast, silver prices fell by ₹1,633 to ₹1,76,467 per kilogram, after touching an all-time high of ₹1,78,100 the previous day. During the first 15 days of this month, gold has gained ₹10,803, averaging an increase of ₹720 per day. Silver, too, has surged by ₹34,033, or roughly ₹2,669 per day, over the same period. Experts attribute the continued rise in gold and silver prices to the festive season demand, increased industrial consumption, and a reduction in global supply. Gold Rises by ₹50,630 and Silver by ₹90,450 in 2025 So far this year, gold prices have surged by ₹50,630. On December 31, 2024, 10 grams of 24-carat gold was priced at ₹76,162, which has now climbed to ₹1,26,792. Silver prices have also seen a significant increase of ₹90,450, rising from ₹86,017 per kilogram at the end of 2024 to ₹1,76,467 per kilogram today. Gold Could Rise Further A recent Goldman Sachs report predicts gold could reach $5,000 per ounce next year, which translates to approximately ₹1,55,000 per 10 grams at current exchange rates.
