Denied pension, elderly woman suffers for two years:Indore Collector scolds officials; orders secretary’s salary deduction and immediate release of amount

An elderly woman approached the Indore Collector Shivam Verma Singh regarding her pending pension during a public hearing on Tuesday. The Collector personally attended to her, listened to her grievance, and immediately ordered the release of her pension. Collector shows prompt action at public hearing A large number of people had come to the public hearing to raise various issues. Among them, an elderly woman from Kumedi Kakad struggled to submit her pension application while standing in line. Noticing her plight, Collector stood up, personally offered her a chair, and inquired about her issue. The woman stated that she had not received her pension for two years, and officials had been continuously sending her from office to office without resolution. Officials reprimanded, pension released Collector Verma expressed strong displeasure at the officers and called them to the spot for reprimand. He then ordered that the secretary’s salary be deducted to provide the woman with her two years’ pending pension. The Collector also issued strict instructions to all department officials that every applicant’s grievance received during public hearings must be resolved within a set time frame, failing which departmental action would be taken against responsible officers. Another complaint ordered for investigation Another woman, Aarti Palwar from Piplyapala, approached the Collector seeking justice after her husband’s death caused by medical negligence a year ago. She alleged that no action had been taken against the responsible doctor despite filing an FIR. The complaint also highlighted that Dr. Pradeep Patel in Prem Nagar was allegedly operating a clinic illegally within a medical shop and endangering lives under the guise of treatment. Following her complaint, the Collector directed the health department officials to investigate the matter and take necessary action based on the findings.
