Bihar announces senior team for first Ranji Trophy matches:Sakibul Gani to lead; Vaibhav Suryavanshi appointed vice-captain; season opens October 15 against Arunachal Pradesh

Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has announced the senior team for the first two matches of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season. The selection committee has named 14 players. Sakibul Gani will lead the team as captain, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi will serve as vice-captain. This season, Bihar will play in the Plate Group after being relegated from the Elite Group due to poor performance last year. The matches will be held at Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna. Bihar will host three Ranji Trophy matches this season: The Arunachal Pradesh team arrived in Patna on Sunday for the first match. Bihar team for the first match: Piyush Kumar Singh, Bhaskar Dubey, Sakibul Gani (Captain), Vaibhav Suryavanshi (Vice-Captain), Arnav Kishore, Ayush Lohruka, Bipin Saurabh, Amod Yadav, Nawaz Khan, Sakib Hussain, Raghvendra Pratap Singh, Sachin Kumar Singh, Himanshu Singh, Khalid Alam, Sachin Kumar. Other registered players will remain on standby. Support staff: Vinayak Samant (Head Coach), Kumar Mridul (Assistant Coach), Dr. Hemendu Kumar Singh (Physiotherapist), Gopal Kumar (Strength Conditioning Coach). Nandan Kumar Singh has been appointed team manager by BCA.
