Principal beats first class student with pipe in Dewas:Family says punishment for failing multiplication table; mother spots injuries

In Itawa, Dewas, a first class student at Mothers Lap International School was allegedly beaten with a pipe by Principal Thakur Madam for failing to recite the multiplication table. Injury marks were found on the child, who was admitted to the district hospital. The family has filed a complaint, with the father, Roop Singh Solanki, stating the punishment followed his son’s inability to recite the table of two. The incident occurred on Saturday. The child developed a fever that night but, out of fear, did not speak up. On Sunday morning, while bathing the child, the mother noticed injuries and swelling. Family members immediately took the child to Dewas District Hospital, where he was treated. RMO Ajay Patel of the district hospital confirmed that the child was brought to the hospital in the morning and had marks of being beaten with a pipe below his waist. The family members have filed a complaint on 181 demanding strict action against the principal. After this incident, people living nearby also demanded that strict legal action be taken against such teachers so that such incidents do not recur in the future.
