West Indies ended Day 2 of the second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi at 140/4, still trailing India’s massive first-innings total of 518/5 by 378 runs. Ravindra Jadeja was the star with the ball for India, claiming three wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav picked up one. The visitors struggled to build partnerships as India’s spinners tightened their grip late in the day. Earlier, India resumed their innings with Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease. While Jaiswal was dismissed early in the first session, Gill continued his solid form. Alongside wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, he stitched together a crucial 102-run stand before Jurel was bowled by West Indies captain Roston Chase for 44 off 96 balls. Soon after, Gill declared India’s innings at 518/5, remaining unbeaten on a well-crafted 129 off 196 deliveries. In reply, the West Indies’ top order struggled to counter India’s spin attack. Dhruv Jurel drops Tevin Imlach in second innings West Indies wicketkeeper Tevin Imlach gave Dhruv Jurel a lifeline. In the 132.1 over, Indian batsman Dhruv Jurel played a cut shot on Roston Chase’s ball. The ball took the inside edge of Jurel’s bat. Wicketkeeper Imlach dived to his left, but he could only get his gloves to the ball and dropped the catch. 4. Sai Sudharsan injures a finger but takes a freak catch West Indies lost their first wicket in the 8th over. Opener John Campbell was caught by Sai Sudarshan off Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling for 10 runs.
