another-factory-operating-on-leased-land-for-38-years:arya-pharmacy-in-indore-served-notice-for-subleasing-govt-plot

Following the deaths of 25 children due to consumption of coldrif cough syrup, the drug administration and relevant departments in Indore have been conducting rigorous inspections of cough syrup manufacturing units. Samples are being collected from various locations every day, and factories are being closely examined for compliance with drug safety norms. Arya pharmacy served notice by District Industry Center On Friday, the District Industry Center (DIC) sent a notice to Arya Pharmacy, located at the Polo Ground area in Indore. The notice questioned why Arya Pharmacy, which had leased the government land, had allowed another company to operate on it. Such actions are considered a violation of the lease rules. Past controversies: 2018 fentanyl factory discovery Arya Pharmacy has a history of regulatory violations. In 2018, the Revenue Intelligence Department raided the unit and discovered a factory producing the highly dangerous drug Fentanyl Hydrochloride. Large quantities of the drug were seized, and a case of money laundering worth crores of rupees came to light. While investigations began, they were later stalled, and no strict action was taken against the company. Another unit operating for 38 years The issue has resurfaced now. According to Dainik Bhaskar, the incomplete investigation into Arya Pharmacy’s Fentanyl Hydrochloride production raised concerns about regulatory oversight. During the current inspection, it was found that another unit, named Western Art, has been operating on the same leased land for 38 years. This land was officially leased to Arya Pharmacy, making the sub-leasing to another entity a violation of government rules. Government action and notice In response to these irregularities, Arya Pharmacy has been served a formal notice. GM of District Industry Center, Swapnil Garg, stated: If the terms of the lease have been violated, action will definitely be taken. It is illegal to lease government land to another company without permission. The notice stressed compliance with lease regulations and indicates that authorities are closely monitoring Arya Pharmacy and the land usage situation.
