In Khargone district, Dr. Deepak Sharma, who was absconding and wanted in a conspiracy to murder case in Balwada, Barwah, surrendered at Balwada police station on Wednesday. The doctor is accused of plotting the murder of his younger brother, Sandeep Sharma. During interrogation, he confessed to arranging a contract killing worth ₹10 lakh. Dr. Deepak Sharma, who practices medicine in Tejaji Nagar, Indore, revealed that his motive was anger over his parents transferring ancestral land to his younger brother. He aimed to usurp 19 bighas of land, valued at ₹6 crore. After a land mutation, Dr. Sharma suspected his brother and conspired to eliminate him. He coordinated with Tanish Randhawa from Dewas, who had approached him for treatment, to execute the plan. On September 29, an attempt was made to run over Sandeep Sharma with a Thar vehicle. Advance payment made for contract The accused admitted paying an advance of ₹25,000 towards the contract killing. On September 29, his associates rented a Thar vehicle to chase Sandeep and attempt the murder. Following the incident, police conducted multiple raids to apprehend Dr. Sharma, though initial efforts were unsuccessful. Items recovered from accused Police seized: The arrested accused include Chetan Panwar, Shubham Arya, Rahul Verma, Aditya Pradhan, Tanish Randhawa, and Rahul Rathore. Police are still searching for Vikas Singh from Datenra Morena, the owner of the Thar vehicle. Brutal attempt on September 29 On the night of September 29, Sandeep Sharma was returning home to Badel village from his shop in Katkut. The accused, riding in a black Thar (MP 09 DT 8514), chased him and struck him from behind near Gujratipura turn. The impact caused Sandeep to fall into a deep roadside ditch. The assailants threatened him with weapons and abused him. Sandeep managed to escape and hide in a nearby cornfield. When villagers arrived at the scene, the accused fled.
