SDM suspended by CM continues to harass Sabalgarh family:Young girl forced to leave her studies; mother alleges calls, threats intimidation persist

A woman and her family in Sabalgarh are living in fear after the Sabalgarh SDM, Arvind Mahaur, allegedly harassed their daughter for years. Even after being suspended by the Chief Minister, Mahaur is reportedly threatening the family. The girl had to leave her studies, and the family has been forced to hide due to fear of false cases and continued intimidation. SDM suspended after harassment complaint SDM Arvind Mahaur was suspended on the orders of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The victim’s family had complained during a public hearing at Morena Collectorate. They submitted a video showing Mahaur verbally abusing their daughter and threatening relatives at her brother-in-law’s shop. Despite suspension, Mahaur reportedly opened his office at night and transferred six revenue officials. The Collector had placed a stay on four of these transfers. Threats to the family The complainant woman said Mahaur called her daughter at night for two years with inappropriate messages. When the daughter stopped answering, he began threatening her relatives. At her brother-in-law’s shop in Sabalgarh, Mahaur allegedly said: “Your daughter and your sister-in-law are very aggressive; I will implicate them in a false case. There is no officer bigger than me.” The family fears that Mahaur may continue harassment if allowed to return to duty. They even stated that if action is not taken soon, they could be driven to commit mass suicide. Harassment started in Ambah The family stated that harassment began when Mahaur was SDM in Ambah. He would call the daughter at night and send abusive messages. The daughter changed her mobile number, but the harassment resumed after Mahaur obtained her new number. After becoming Sabalgarh SDM, Mahaur allegedly continued to threaten the family. The victim approached Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, which led to the suspension. Family faces financial hardship Due to the ongoing harassment, the family left their home and is hiding with relatives. They are struggling financially, as their main business—a fruit cart in Sabalgarh—cannot operate normally. The daughter, who was studying M.Com in Gwalior, had to discontinue her education. The victim’s uncle said the family faced repeated threats from Mahaur, including calls and visits from Mahaur’s associates demanding their presence. Confrontation and video evidence The family recorded a video after SDM Mahaur personally visited their fruit cart. The SDM reportedly said: “Don’t you know me? I am the SDM, the biggest officer here. You are not coming despite my repeated calls, I will implicate you in a false FIR.” Fearing a false FIR, the uncle and his sister-in-law went to the SDM’s bungalow at 9 PM as instructed. During this meeting, they recorded the SDM abusing the family. Previous controversies SDM Mahaur has a history of controversial behaviour, including threatening to slap a complainant during a public hearing and assaulting a peon. The victim’s family continues to demand strict action, fearing that Mahaur may resume harassment if allowed back to duty.
