Today, October 6, the High Court will hear the case regarding the incident of rats biting newborns at MY Hospital in Indore. The last hearing was held on September 15, where the state government presented its detailed report to the court. The report stated that both newborns did not die due to rat bites. The post-mortem report of a couple’s baby from Dhar revealed that her organs were not fully developed and she also had other illnesses. Along with this, a notice has been issued to blacklist Agile Company, which was responsible for pest control work in the hospital. The government acknowledged that the rat bite incident is serious, and to prevent such occurrences in the future, it has been decided to shift the PICU and NICU units of MY Hospital to a government super-specialty hospital. Until then, fumigation and pest control will be carried out in these units. Meanwhile, JAYS (Jai Adivasi Yuva Shakti) demands action against the Dean, Superintendent, and other responsible officials. It is preparing for another protest. Two incidents in two days, action mentioned in the report According to the report, the first incident occurred on August 30 at 4 AM and the second incident occurred on August 31 at 10:30 PM. The investigation examined what steps were taken after the first incident and whose fault led to the second incident. Departmental action has been taken against employees who did not report on time or in whose presence negligence occurred. Court emphasized adherence to guidelines During the hearing, the court said that the parameters and guidelines set by the government should be strictly followed. The court also said that if needed, a separate monitoring authority can also be created so that such incidents do not recur. Jayas President Accuses Government Jayas National President Advocate Lokesh Mujalda said that the organization wants action against the Dean, Superintendent and other responsible persons. He said that the district administration, while talking about stopping the agitation in this matter, had said that the matter is in the High Court, so the agitation was postponed till October 6. He said that the government is trying to save the culprits. He says that the government is not making public the report of the state government’s inquiry committee (headed by IAS Yogesh Bharsat) that came from Bhopal. He alleged that even when the High Court sought a response from the government, this report was not presented in court. The documents submitted by the government to the court certainly mention this report, but the full report was not provided. ‘Hiding the report to avoid FIR’ Mujalda also alleged that the state-level report might contain facts that prove the negligence of the Dean and Superintendent. Therefore, the government is suppressing the report so that an FIR cannot be registered. He informed that Devaram, the father of the deceased girl, has submitted an application at Sanyogitaganj police station and demanded action against the culprits based on the state government’s investigation report.
