Immersion of Maa Durga idols has started at various city ghats, with devotees arriving at the sites from early morning. Small idols are being placed in specially constructed tanks, while larger ones are lowered into the water using cranes. Processions carrying the idols have been moving since Friday night. Maa Durga idol immersion across the capital More than 150 Durga idols and moving tableaux from the city are included in this procession being taken out under the banner of Shri Hindu Utsav Committee. The procession began at 7 pm from Central Library amidst drums and wrestlers from akhadas. The procession will pass through Bharat Talkies intersection, Itwara, Mangalwara, Galla Mandi, Janakpuri, Jumerati, Old Post Office, Peergate, Moti Masjid and Retghat before reaching Kamla Park and finally Kamlapati Ghat. Total 7000 idols to be immersed in city A total of more than 7 thousand idols are to be immersed in the city, which will continue for three days. For this, the administration has made arrangements at 11 major ghats including Khatlapura, Prempura, Bairgarh, Hathaikheda, Shahpura, Arch Bridge, Malikhedi, Sehore Naka, Anantpura, Itkhedi and Naronha Sankal.
