Gold and silver prices slipped on Thursday after touching record highs earlier this week. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold fell by ₹500 to ₹1,16,833. Silver prices also edged lower, dropping ₹110 to ₹1,45,010 per kilogram. On October 1, gold had surged to an all-time high of ₹1,17,332 per 10 grams, while silver touched a peak of ₹1,45,120 per kilogram. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold has risen by ₹40,671 since December 31, 2024. Gold, which was priced at ₹76,162 per 10 grams at the end of last year, now stands at ₹1,16,833. Silver has also witnessed a steep jump of ₹58,993 during the same period. On December 31, 2024, one kilogram of silver was priced at ₹86,017; today it is valued at ₹1,45,010. Gold May Touch ₹1.55 Lakh A recent Goldman Sachs report has projected gold at $5,000 per ounce by next year, which at current exchange rates translates to nearly ₹1,55,000 per 10 grams. Market expert Sandeep Raichura, Director at PL Capital, also expects prices to rise further, predicting levels of around ₹1,44,000 per 10 grams.
