India finished Day 1 at 121/2 in their first innings despite a brief rain interruption in Ahmedabad. KL Rahul anchored the innings with a well-crafted half-century in 101 balls. However, India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal for 36 and Sai Sudharsan for just 7. Skipper Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 18, steadying the innings as India trailed West Indies by 41 runs at stumps. Rahul dropped Greaves’ catch In the 36th over, West Indies batter Justin Greaves got a lifeline. On the second ball of Washington Sundar’s over, KL Rahul dropped a catch at slip. Greaves was playing at 24 runs here. He scored 32 runs. 4. Bumrah’s fiery yorkers Bumrah dismissed two batsmen with yorkers in two consecutive overs. Justin Greaves was bowled on the last ball of the 39th over. Bumrah bowled a fast yorker, which Greaves failed to understand. The ball went under his bat and uprooted the off-stump.
