In Dhar’s Badnawar, a 71-foot Ravana effigy has been prepared on the theme of Operation Sindoor. Photos of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir have been placed on the effigy. The sword in Ravana’s hand also carries Pakistan’s flag. The burning will take place at the Government College campus on Thursday night. Cost of three and a half lakh rupees The huge effigy has cost around three and a half lakh rupees to build. It will be set ablaze around 9:30 pm with fireworks. On Wednesday evening, Tehsildar Suresh Nagar and TI Amit Singh Kushwah inspected the site to ensure safety arrangements. Organizers highlight army’s bravery Event organizer Chandrabhan Singh Solanki and coordinator Yogesh Mukati, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Kheda, said the theme was chosen to honor the courage of soldiers who entered Pakistan’s territory and gave a befitting reply. The effigy has been created completely digitally. Artist designs rotating Ravana face Young artist Saeed Shah led a team to design the effigy over 10 days. The face of Ravana will rotate during the display. Firecrackers have been filled inside, and the burning will be triggered by a missile strike at the effigy’s navel. Missile will ignite the effigy As soon as the missile hits, the effigy will burst into flames. An orchestra from Mumbai has been called to perform, and fireworks will also follow. Organizers said Solanki Mitra Mandal has been conducting this Ravana Dahan event for 25 years. Navratri fair draws thousands The event is expected to draw nearly 6,000 to 7,000 people. The Ekbira Devi temple, considered the family deity of the Pandavas, is also nearby. A Navratri fair is underway, and devotees visit the temple before joining the Ravana Dahan.
