A BCCI official has confirmed that the Indian women’s cricket team will not shake hands with Pakistani players during the upcoming ODI World Cup. Speaking to news agency PTI, the official said that the Board is acting in full alignment with the government’s stance on the matter. This means there will be no handshakes at the toss, no joint photo sessions with the match referee, and no post-match handshakes between the two sides. India is scheduled to face Pakistan in Colombo on October 5. Notably, during the Asia Cup 2025, the Indian men’s team also avoided handshakes in all three of their matches against Pakistan, despite winning each of them.
