Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has achieved a big honour as he has been included in TIME magazine’s 100 Next 2025 list, which highlights the world’s most promising emerging leaders and stars. At just 23 years old, Jaiswal is the only cricketer in the world to feature in this year’s list. The young opener is currently in Ahmedabad, where he is preparing with Team India for the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies, starting October 2. The first Test will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Jaiswal’s global recognition TIME 100 Next is an annual list launched in 2019 that celebrates emerging leaders, innovators, artists, and change-makers who may not yet be in the mainstream but are shaping the future in their own fields. Alongside Jaiswal, the other names are Spanish footballer Lamine Yamal, American basketball player Paige Bueckers, American tennis star Taylor Fritz, and Thai golfer Geno Thitikul. Yashasvi shares his emotions on social media Jaiswal expressed his happiness through a social media post on Wednesday, calling it a proud moment in his journey. He wrote on X, “What an amazing time! I have been included in Time 100 Next 2025 list along with leaders shaping the future. I am proud of this. In 2019, Indian sprinter Dutee Chand became the first Indian to be named, while England’s Test captain Ben Stokes was the first cricketer to make the list.
