The Central Government announced a Diwali bonus for its employees. The finance ministry issued an order providing this information. A 30-day Productivity-Linked Bonus (PLB) has been approved for the employees. The ministry stated that Group C and non-gazetted Group B employees will receive an ‘ad-hoc bonus’ equivalent to 30 days’ salary for 2024-25. The bonus amount has been fixed at ₹6,908. Which employees will benefit from the bonus? How will the bonus be calculated? The bonus calculation will be based on the maximum monthly salary of ₹7,000. For example, 30-day bonus will be calculated as… 7,000 * 30 / 30.4 = ₹6,907.89 (rounded off to ₹6,908) Some important points about the bonus – This bonus will only be given to employees who are employed until March 31, 2025. Those employees who retired, resigned, or passed away before this date will also be eligible for the bonus if they completed at least six months of regular service. If an employee is on deputation to another organisation, the bonus will be paid by the organisation where they are currently working. The bonus amount will always be rounded off in rupees.
