BJP leader booked for molestation allegation in Mandsaur:Woman alleges he enters bathroom; accused calls complaint a conspiracy over land dispute

A case of molestation has been registered against Bhagwati Lal Surawat, district president of the BJP’s Scheduled Caste (SC) Morcha in Mandsaur. A woman from a village in the Sitamau police station area has accused him of entering her bathroom and misbehaving with her. FIR lodged after woman’s complaint Following the woman’s complaint, Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinod Meena directed Sitamau police to register an FIR on Monday. The complainant had personally approached the SP seeking justice. Police officials confirmed that an investigation is underway. Accused leader denies allegations, calls it a land dispute After the case was filed, Surawat released a video message denying the charges. He termed the allegations baseless and claimed that the case was linked to a land dispute. “This is a conspiracy to divert attention from a land matter. The charges against me are false,” he said. Surawat is also a representative of the Janpad Panchayat. BJP district president seeks fair probe BJP district president Rajesh Dixit reacted to the controversy, stating that he had received information about the incident. “According to our information, the woman has lodged a false case. Police should conduct a fair and impartial investigation,” he said. Police: Case registered, investigation on Sitamau SDOP Dinesh Prajapati confirmed that an FIR has been lodged against Surawat based on the woman’s complaint. “The case is being investigated on factual grounds,” he added. Meanwhile, SP Vinod Meena stated that the matter is under inquiry and appropriate action will be taken after the investigation. The accused is currently absconding.
